Lingerie design and brand consultancy

from someone who has

designed it, built it, and lived it.

About Me

Hi, I’m Pia

I’m a designer and brand founder, based in Hertfordshire. I've worked in lingerie and intimates since 2010, specialising in the premium and luxury end of the market.

After graduating from London College of Fashion in 2009, I designed six collections over three years for luxury lingerie brand Bordelle, where I developed a deep love of exquisite construction and embroidery design.I then freelanced across brands large and small, and private bridal clients, before I founded my own luxury lingerie label, Studio Pia, in 2017 - built around bespoke embroidery, bold colour, and ethical silk, pioneering sustainability conversations in luxury lingerie before it was mainstream.I stepped away from the brand in 2024, and whilst still trading, it has since changed direction under new ownership, veering away from my original vision and design values. Now, I bring everything I’ve learned - as a designer, a founder, and a brand builder - to help other brands do the same.

Studio Pia

Building a multi-million pound lingerie brand from an £8k loan

I didn't set out to start my own brand - but after several years in-house and freelancing, I had the contacts, experience, and a clear gap in the market I wanted to fill.Studio Pia launched with a simple but, at the time, radical goal: beautiful, luxurious pieces made from ethical materials - at a moment when 'sustainable lingerie' still meant beige and basic. In the early days I ran every part of the business myself, from design and production to branding and sales. I learned a lot, and quickly! But creative concepts and design were where I really flourished - particularly embroidery design, which became the brand's real point of difference. From an £8k loan, I grew Studio Pia into a multi-million pound brand across international ecommerce and wholesale, with designs worn by Lily Allen, Rosalía, and Doja Cat.And now I'm doing it all again, applying everything I learned to my new bridal brand, Leaina.

Dolci Follie

Boutique introducting a signature house lingerie line

Dolci Follie owner, Simona Walters, approached me to help her create the first luxury lingerie capsule collection under the Dolci Follie brand.Simona's customers had been looking for exquisite lingerie pieces that they could wear out, without feeling too exposed. The brief stipulated that the collection should be made from draped silk, in the brand's signature creamy-gold palette with gold hardware, and utilising adjustable sizing techniques.
My role was to design, develop, and sample all styles.
I tested various bust draping techniques, and once perfected, developed it for use throughout the capsule, designing complementing pieces that would appeal to Simona's customer demographic. The final result was really strong, and this led to subsequent collaborations, creating bespoke items for Dolci Follie private clients.

Honey Birdette

Lingerie brand sourcing design talent for European expansion

The founder of Honey Birdette, Eloise Monaghan, had been impressed with my work at Bordelle, and approached me to design for the brand. The Australian lingerie company had been growing quickly, and Eloise and the Design Manager were looking for a fresh creative perspective ahead of their European expansion.I started out by undertaking trend research at the renowned Paris trade show, and from this, created four key design concepts for the team to choose from.I developed designs from the 'fishnet' concept in line with the brand's preference for moulded cup styles, using a graphic net lace I'd sourced at the show. I also designed custom branded hardware accessory that tapped into the 90's-esque vibe. The collection performed well commercially, and was later reproduced in a leopard colourway.
